Step 1: Logic Board Swap

Alright, this is where the electric engineering I mentioned earlier comes in handy. The logic board swap requires my custom board, which I sell for very minimal profit from my eBay store, or alternatively, for an even smaller fee via I will send you, via email the schematics necessary .stl files for 3D printing and fabricating your own — this latter option is not for the faint of heart however!

Here's a user-created video detailing the 3rd generation iPod teardown. (Apologies for the blatant commercialism: LibraNet does not get money from ads on this video and encourages its users to use ad-blocking scripts when on the open-market web.

Detailed Steps:

• Tear down the iPod using the tools and methods mentioned in the user-created video.
• Be careful not to break the plastic tabs or casing used on this generation of iPod.
• When it's all disassembled, replace the OEM logic board with the one you bought from my eBay store or fabricated from my directions.
• Be sure the board is installed upright (facing the top of the device where the auxiliary audio input is) when placing the new board in.
